American Recovery and Reinvestiment Act of 2009 (ARRA)
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) is a job and economic stimulus bill intended to help states and the nation restart their economies and stimulate employment during the worst economic downturn in over 70 years. As part of the bill, more than $48 billion was included for transportation nationwide for highways, local streets and roads, freight and passenger rail, and port infrastructure projects, and transit projects.
